ALL OF MY WORKS ARE 18+ MINORS DNI

Eddie steps– read: stumbles– through the dusty mirror on the back of the closet door. This house he picked is one grade A shithole, but it’ll work for his purposes.
Ohhh, he’s so fucking mad. So mad. He would have stayed with you all night. He would have been there to force you to drink some water, eat some chocolate. Now that you’ve given him a chance– now that you’ve decided you want him– he would have stayed with you until you were crying from pleasure. You’re so fucking precious when you beg, and he’s a creature of pride. And lust. And gluttony and all those other fucking sins– something about becoming a demon has made them all multiply within him.
If he’d stayed with you, he would have taken you to pieces. Pulled you apart and molded you to his whim, given you anything you asked for and more. Maybe he’d even coax you to another orgasm in your dreams; who knows? The possibilities were literally endless.
But he’s not there with you.
He’s here in Fuckass, Nowhere, because the cops decided to dig into your so-called ‘high school sweetheart,’ Eddie Munson.
Why the fuck he gave you his real name, he doesn’t know. Maybe because he wanted you to know it, to have it in your mind the way yours is in his, constantly. But he didn’t imagine the cops would try to look into it.
But, of course they would, because shit like this never goes easy for him. And, of course they would decide to do it the day that he’s got a hot date to take care of.
Fucking cock blocks.
He had to leave you in your post-orgasmic haze to cause a power outage at the department of investigation before he could construct a fictitious Eddie Munson, who’d grown up in or around Eastwick. Sketchy background, a few minor felonies that don’t add up to shit, but warrant at least an arrest record. Something believable without being too on the nose.
The lamp lights flicker on and off as he moves through the trailer. The TV switches on without any physical force directing it to. He picks up a yellowing, half empty box of Marlboro reds from the end of the kitchen counter, and pulls one out of it.
The previous owner of this house rots in a lake a mile away, a few months too late for the party. One of the good things about being a demon is that you can construct an alibi so easily, change names on house deeds and pay stubs and tax forms with the flick of a wrist. Make it so that something you say happened actually did happen, on paper. Erase something you don’t want there.
The rug beneath his bare feet is rough, indoor-outdoor carpeting that the poor idiot who owned this house didn’t bother to switch out. Eddie’s dark jeans hang low on his hips, his chest bare and his hip bones jutting out at odd angles. He looks down and all his old tattoos are there, just the way he likes them. Your taste is still on his tongue, in the corners of his mouth, behind his teeth, reminding him of where he’d rather be.
Eddie lights himself the cigarette as he peeks out of the kitchen window. In the yard, the coppers are rounding the rust bucket of a Volkswagen bug sitting in the tall grass.
He sits on the rickety wooden dining chair beside the door, listening to their footsteps as they mount the porch, whispering to each other. He hates cops. Always did, for obvious reasons, when he was human– but now that he’s beyond worldly measures, all they do is stick their noses in where they don’t belong.
Normally, he wouldn’t do this. A normal demon would allow the consequences of the deal you’d made to catch up with you. A normal demon would let you swim or drown when it comes to dealing with the repercussions, take their share from the deal and run away, allowing the contract to claim your soul. Just like his own demon did to him.
The thing that Eddie failed to mention to you when you cut that deal with him is that he would steal the sun just to keep you warm. He had already decided that he was in love with you when he got your petition, and he doesn’t know how to love passively.
So, this is a walk in the park for him, all things considered.
Three knocks against the door cut over the sound of Scarface on the TV. Eddie shakes his head in solidarity at the house ghost floating in the corner, watching him with hollow eyes and creating a black hole where a lamp is supposed to be.
“Watch me fuck this up,” he whispers to it.
“Edward Munson?” The small one, Officer Leony, peers up at him with a blank expression when he opens the door.
“Uh… yeah?”
He stares down at her, leaning a naked shoulder against the doorframe, not bothering to extinguish his cigarette. He sucks in a long drag.
Christ, this thing tastes like ass. They don’t make ‘em like they used to. Cigarettes taste better when he just conjures them himself.
Eddie exhales a cloud of tobacco, somehow without pulling a face or retching. He’ll smell like smoke no matter what, and he’s sure that the heat of his hellfire radiates from his bare skin into the muggy air. Best to pretend it’s because he’s nothing but a smoker. He can feign mortality up to a point, and that’s where the uncanny valley sits.
Seemingly to support this, Leony rocks back on her heels, but doesn’t step back the way she wants to.
“I’m Officer Leony, this is Officer Casey–” she gestures to the taller man beside her. “There’s been a disturbance at a town upstate, and we’re here to ask you a few questions about it, if that’s all right.”
Eddie shifts in place. Oh, no, he couldn’t have predicted this. “Can’t see what I’d have to do with something upstate.”
“Y’ever been to a little town called Eastwick?” Casey asks mildly.
“I grew up a town over. Across the river.” Eddie lies. It gives him a certain thrill to lie to the cops again. It’s like riding a bike– you never really forget how, but sometimes you miss it when the weather’s right.
“Ever met a man named Andrew Montgomery?”
That piece of shit motherfucker. “Never heard of him.”
“He’s dating– dated– someone we think you may know,” Leony begins.
“You’ve got her name on your chest,” blurts Casey, who seems to be having trouble keeping his eyes on Eddie’s face, in favor of the glaring mark. “Nice, uh. Nice scar.”
“It’s a brand.” Eddie can’t help the smirk that comes to his face when he glances down to see the raised tissue on his own skin. You’d only said that he burned your name on his chest, but he took that a step further and placed it over his heart. Go big or go home, right? “Not as pretty as she was, but it’s not like I can remove it.”
“Right.”
A few paces away, in the trees, a pack of hounds snarl and bark like they’re having a real field day.
“What’s that?” Casey nearly yelps, peering into the trees. He sees nothing. “Wolves?”
“No, those are just my dogs.” Eddie shrugs at him. He fights off a nervous laugh. “They get a little rowdy sometimes, y’know. No worries.”
Leony clears her throat. “Mr. Munson, we’re sure that given your… history, you’re no stranger to automotive accidents.”
Eddie’s eyes flick to her. “Accidents?” Accidents, referring to the spontaneously combusting car that a certain Edward Munson was held in custody for perpetrating, but was acquitted for lack of evidence.
Or something. He doesn’t exactly remember the wording he used on the fake case file. Not too on the nose, right?
“See, Mr. Montgomery’s vehicle exploded earlier today.”
“Shit, is he all right?” Pfffft.
“Why would you assume he was harmed?” Leony asks, looking like she’s just caught him in a lie.
Eddie’s eyes flutter in annoyance. “I know cops. You don’t drive into the middle of nowhere to question someone for a bit of damaged property.”
Leony huffs. “You’re right. Mr. Montgomery is in the ICU, unfortunately. Severe burns all over his body. We just want to rule out any foul play. If you know anything at all…”
“Like I said, I’ve never heard of the guy before now.”
Leony nods, sucking on her teeth. “And, when was the last time you spoke to your ex-girlfriend?”
Eddie puffs out his cheeks, overdramatizing it. “Probably, uh…” Could be talking to her right now. “Five, six years?”
“And you haven’t been back to Eastwick since then?”
“Why would I want to go back to that fuckin’ place?” Eddie growls. His anger isn’t entirely fake– he hates small towns.
“I can think of one reason.” Leony’s eyes fall to your name burned onto his heart. “Mr. Munson, I’m sure you’re… aware of your ex-girlfriend’s reputation within the town.”
“Reputation,” Eddie parrots.
“As a witch.” Casey says it so frankly, as if it holds some kind of merit.
Eddie bristles and looks back and forth between them. “R’you telling me that two cops actually believe in that kind of horseshit?”
“Witchcraft isn’t illegal, even if it… were real…” Leony explains hesitantly, while Eddie tries to keep smoke from blowing out of his ears. “But rumors like that don’t form in a vacuum. We have reason to believe she may have tried to harm Mr. Montgomery. If the rumors are true– which, usually they are in these cases, she has a bit of a reputation for being unusual. We just wondered if you can recall any sort of odd behavior… besides the obvious.”
Another pointed look at the brand on his chest.
EDDIE.
Eddie glances up at the moon in the evening sky, waxing its way to full. It’s a little more than halfway there.
EDDIE. EDDIE. EDDIE.
You’re calling him. He can sense the need in your body, sees flashes of your hands moving down your stomach and dipping beneath the fabric of your pajamas. You’re just lying there, focusing all your energy on him.
Touching yourself to the thought of him.
Your voice is ringing in his ears, screaming for him to leave this place and go to you. He fights not to wince at the volume of it.
EDDIE I NEED YOU RIGHT NOW RIGHT NOW RIGHT NOW–
Fuck, he wishes he didn’t have to do this shit.
Eddie clenches his jaw, squeezing the door jamb so hard that he leaves scorch marks in the plaster in the shape of his fingerprints. He’s mad that he can’t be with you as soon as you call, and he hates that this is keeping him away from you.
He hates what they’ve done to you, ostracized you the way that his own small town did to him. Witchcraft. Devil worship. Unusual equals murder. Even if you are a witch, even if he is the closest thing to the devil you’ll know, he hates the way that these cops talk about you like they know you, or what you’ve been through.
“Believe me,” he snaps, letting his temper get the better of him, “If she ever did anything unusual, it’s because she had a damn good reason to. Hell, I’d rather burn that whole fuckin’ town to the ground than see her suffer in it anymore.”
Leony’s mouth twitches up at the corners. “Is that so?”
Eddie blinks.
You fucked it up, comes the whispering voice of the ghost in the corner.
“Shit.” Eddie presses his lips together, and tosses his burning cigarette into the dead grass next to the porch. He lifts his two fingers to his lips and whistles loudly.
Snarling and barking, a pack of shadowy dogs bound out of the trees. Red eyes glow from each smoky figure, varying in size and shape, but all made of the same infernal aether.
Casey tries to run. Leony tries pulling her gun. The juxtaposition between the two officers is laughable, but ultimately, they both meet the same fate between the jaws of the hellhounds that swarm them.
Eddie doesn’t see where Casey gets dragged off to– somewhere in the trees, the shouts take a little bit to die down. Leony’s throat gets ripped out first, so all he hears from her is a faint gurgling that slowly gets overshadowed by the sound of crackling as a fire catches on in the grass.
“Never trust a demon to make things easy,” he sighs, and takes a seat on the porch. It’ll take a few minutes before the fire really gets going on the wood, and by that time he’ll be gone.
He’ll make sure this doesn’t get back to you. It just means another trip into the computers at the department of investigation, and those wires are really fucking tight to squeeze into.
Eddie whistles shortly. “Cerberus. Stop it, you’re making a mess.”
The Doberman spirit drops the decapitated head he’d been using as a chew toy, flinging blood all over the yellow grass. Instead, the German Shepherd spirit beside him immediately snatches it and throws it across the yard before chasing after it.
Eddie glares. “Sauron. Bad dog.”
Out of the mix of shadowy dogs and flying body parts, a tinier hellhound than all the rest trundles up. It’s the newest of the bunch, still in need of training– but Eddie’s not entirely sure that he wants to train it to be like the rest.
Dogs will be dogs, even in the afterlife. He chose the others for their ferocity. Most of them were the losers of dog fights; innocent animals that never asked to be put through the pain and torture that they got in life, but were trained to be killers nonetheless. They’re protective, loyal, and at times bloodthirsty.
This one is different. This dog has never killed, never maimed, never hurt anything in its little life. This one chose Eddie, sought him out, wandering through the Otherworld as a messenger with a piece of copper in its mouth.
Lacey crawls up into Eddie’s lap on her tiny legs, her little red eyes blinking slowly as she settles down onto his thighs, just like she did when she’d delivered your petition. She’d found him lounging against a tree, emerged from the mist and dropped the copper into his outstretched hand. Made a home for herself in his lap as the details of your petition rolled around in his mind, and all at once he decided you were beginning and end of everything for him.
He would have given her back to you– she’s the one that you miss, but she’s too young of a spirit to be able to manifest as a physical dog yet.
But she’s a cuddly thing. He can understand why you loved her so much. He feels a little bit of that love well up in his own heart, underneath your name branded across it.
His hand pets her smoky back as the fire in the grass reaches the porch.
EDDIE WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU EDDIE EDDIE EDDIE–
Shit, you’re persistent.

How Buck-Tick Found Me: A Fan Origin Story
I though I had written this all out before, but probably on a more ephemeral format.
Buck-Tick discovered me by accident in early 2022. I don't even known how many near-misses I must have had. The only time I had ever previously heard them was Aphex Twin's remix of In The Glitter on 26 Mixes For Cash in 2003. (Why, oh why didn't B-T release Shapeless in the UK in 1994, when I was into many of the artists on it!?!?) But despite having many friends who were into the noisier end of J-Rock (and tried force-feeding me bORIS or Boredoms), not once did anyone suggest B-T. I'm still mad about that!
On 25th February 2022, I was idly reading an interview with a K-Pop producer on The Guardian, who mentioned his teenage obsession with Visual Kei. The picture (of Versailles) on that linked article intrigued me. So I went straight to Spotify and looked up "Old School Visual Kei". The fourth song in grabbed my attention to the point where I looked up the artist - the combination of trip-hop beats; ethereal, shoegazey guitars; and deep, breathy, slightly gothic vocals immediately sucked me in. Yes, like most western fans, my introduction to B-T was ドレス.
I listened to a couple more Visual Kei songs, but none of them did for me what that one Buck-Tick track did. I went back and hit play on their Spotify profile, and ended up listening to them for the rest of the night, until way past my bedtime. I listened to nothing else for the rest of the week, absolutely captivated by everything I heard. It was like someone had taken every single genre of music I had ever cared about from the age of 15 - positive punk, new wave, goth, techno, industrial, cyberpunk, shoegaze, electro, spacerock, drone - and just simmered them in a crockpot with distinctive Japanese flavouring.
This seems crazy to admit now, but I listened to B-T for over a year without ever even knowing what they looked like. I was vaguely aware that they were still going (the latest release at that point was Go-Go B-T Train - I love trains with all my middle-aged British heart so that was a winner for me.) But the singles from Izora started popping up on my Release Radar. Every time one came on, I would find myself sitting upright, paying attention and going to check who it was by. Oh, wow, that old Japanese band has got a new album out? Cool!
I started following the tags on Tumblr. I liked the look of the singer; he reminded me of a cross between Blixa Bargeld and Brett Anderson. In May 2023, shortly after the release of Izora, a gifset wandered across my feed. No source, no tag of what video or song or even album it was. Just the most AESTHETIC images I had ever seen.
The singer was beautiful, but it wasn't the singer that captured me, it was the visual world that this video hinted at.
I spent the next two months chasing down every B-T video on YouTube, trying to find the source of this snippet. Annoyingly, it wasn't in the official videos on their channel. I went on a Deep Dive, until I found it was Love Me, in a fan-assembled playlist of all their early videos. Honestly, whoever compiled this thing: you CHANGED MY LIFE. I wish I could pinpoint the moment that I switched from "wow, I really like this band" to "OH MY GOD THE NEW HYPERFIXATION THAT WILL CONSUME ME FOR THE NEXT FEW YEARS" - maybe it was somewhere between Love Letter and Heroine on this playlist?
I honestly thought I was going to fall in love with the handsome singer, like everyone else on earth. I started devouring Cayce's blog and BT Zone, looking for clues. I read the Japanese Wikipedia entry through Google Translate back when the EngliIh language version was little more than a stub. (Honestly, there was more information about the band on TV Tropes when i started researching.) But the more I read, the more I watched, the more I listened, the more I found myself drawn to the little blond guitarist. Interviews and fact sheets revealed we had a huge number of random, coincidental commonalities. But when he whipped out a theremin during SSL (inbetween commanding said singer to lick his boots) I was lost. You don't choose your Honmei, your Honmei chooses you. He chose hard. I can remember my oldest friend, around her birthday in August, laughing at me, saying "this Imai person has eaten your brain, huh?"
So I guess I had about a year and a half of liking the music, and about 3 or 4 months of being in the fandom before Atsushi collapsed onstage, and everything changed.
...
So although I'm no longer a New Fan, I feel like I have more in common with that experience. I wish I had decades of Deep History with the band - listening to their albums in order, I can hear all of the places in their long history where their taste and aesthetic aligned perfectly with whatever music I was listening to at the time. I do have that Deep History with many of their influences, enough that I feel I have secondhand familiarity with what they were doing.
I certainly understand why fans with a 30+ year history with the band might feel unsettled about the future and trepidation about B-T Mk II. (Except... among the people I follow, it doesn't seem like it's the long-haul fans who have already weathered so many changes, who are having the most trouble with it? The 30+ year fans seem to be the most loyal to the whole group as a concept, with or without Atsushi's corporeal presence.) But that's not where I am.
I had a 35 year history thrown at me to absorb in a few months. I've had 20 months of B-T with Atsushi, and 13 months of B-T without. Change is inevitable. So I feel like I am completely open to a second chapter of my fandom which is different from the first?
Note: Your Mileage May Vary. The way I do fandom is not the only way of doing fandom. All approaches to fandom are valid. You do you, and allow me to do me.

Roses are Red, Violets are Blu
How it started:
"Y/N, you SUCK as Medic."
You groaned as you were killed yet again by the enemy Heavy, ending up back in the respawn room as your friends Roger and Sam laughed at you. They'd been playing Team Fortress 2 for over a decade now while you had only just started playing about a month ago and were still feeling it out. So far you'd tried Heavy, Spy, Sniper and now Medic. Sniper was the only one you'd been good at. "Eat my ass." You huffed as you switched back to Sniper and left the spawn room. "I can't," Roger replied, "I'm vegan." "No the fuck you're not." You laughed as you found yourself a decent vantage point, readied up-and got absolutely wrecked by a Spy.
"...I want...to burn things."
You leaned back from your laptop with a sigh. Fuck, were you bad at this game in general. "Welp, I think that's my sign to call it quits. Besides, I have work in the morning." Your friends groaned but agreed, you all had to at least pretend to be functioning adults who took your work lives, or lives in general, seriously. "Tomorrow you should try soldier." Sam said as you logged out of the game and got ready to end your discord call as well. "I'll give it a go, talk to you dumb fucks in the morning." You laughed a little and ended the call, flopping back in bed and staring at your ceiling. You were hungry but didn't have much food at the time, and any money you got in the next few days would be going to rent. Who knew a one person studio apartment would be so god damn expensive. Who knew a job that you had to get a special license for-and pay to get said license- would give you so little money. Who knew that adulthood would be such...shit.
Groaning, you sat back up to close your laptop, setting it and your headphones on the night stand beside your bed before climbing out. You'd caved and decided to go make noodles or something in the kitchen to eat before bed. Being in a studio apartment, your bedroom was just a few feet away from the kitchen and it should have been no problem getting over there, however you ended up stubbing your toe against something hard on the floor. Using the flashlight on your cellphone you checked around the floor and saw that what had nearly caused your toe amputation was a teleporter. A red teleporter. Like the one from TF2. You yelped as it whirred to life and realized one second too late that you were standing too close to it.

Understanding the Key Requirements for a VA Home Loan in 2025
Key Takeaways
You need to meet certain service requirements to be eligible for a VA home loan.
Financial aspects like your income and credit score play a role, even though VA loans are pretty flexible.
The home you buy must be your primary residence, and it has to meet specific condition standards.
The application process involves confirming your eligibility and finding a VA-approved lender.
VA loans come with benefits like no down payment, but you should understand the funding fee.
Understanding VA Loan Eligibility
Okay, so you're thinking about getting a VA home loan? Awesome! The first thing to figure out is whether you even qualify. It's not just for any veteran; there are specific service requirements you need to meet. Let's break it down.
Service Requirements for a VA Home Loan
To get a VA loan, you need to have served a certain amount of time in the military. The exact length depends on when you served. For example, if you're currently on active duty, you generally need at least 90 continuous days of service. There are different rules for different periods, so it's worth checking the specific requirements based on your service dates. It's not always about the length of service, but also the character of that service.
Discharge Conditions and Eligibility
How you left the military matters too. Generally, you need to have been discharged under honorable conditions. A dishonorable discharge can disqualify you from getting a VA loan. There are some exceptions, but it's best to check with the VA directly to see if your discharge status affects your VA home loan eligibility requirements.
Certificate of Eligibility Importance
This is a super important piece of paper – or, more likely these days, a digital document. The Certificate of Eligibility (COE) proves to the lender that you meet the VA's service requirements. You'll need this to actually get the loan. You can usually apply for a COE online through the VA's website. It's a pretty straightforward process, and it's a necessary step to show you meet the VA home loan qualifications.
Getting your COE is like getting your ticket to the VA loan party. Without it, you're stuck outside. Make sure you get this sorted out early in the process. It can save you a lot of headaches down the road.
Here's a quick look at minimum service requirements:
Dates of Service
Minimum Active-Duty Service Requirement
Currently on active duty
90 continuous days
September 16, 1940 - July 25, 1947
90 total days
Financial Requirements for a VA Home Loan
Beyond just meeting the service requirements, getting a VA loan also means showing you're financially stable. Lenders want to be sure you can actually pay back the loan. They'll look at your income, credit score, and debts to make that call. It's not a free pass just because you're a veteran; you still need to prove you're a good risk.
Income and Employment Verification
Lenders want to see that you have a steady income. This usually means providing pay stubs, W-2s, and possibly tax returns. Self-employed folks might need to jump through a few more hoops to document their income. The key is showing you have enough money coming in each month to comfortably cover your mortgage payments, plus your other bills. They want to see a history of stable employment, too. If you've switched jobs a lot recently, it might raise some red flags.
Credit Score Considerations
While the VA itself doesn't set a minimum credit score, most lenders do. A higher credit score usually means better interest rates and loan terms. Aiming for a score of 620 or higher is generally a good idea. However, some lenders might work with lower scores, but expect to pay a higher interest rate. It's always a good idea to check your credit score for VA loans and address any issues before applying.
Debt-to-Income Ratio Guidelines
Your debt-to-income (DTI) ratio is a big deal. It's basically how much of your monthly income goes towards paying debts. Lenders prefer a DTI of 41% or less. That means all your monthly debt payments (including the new mortgage) shouldn't be more than 41% of your gross monthly income. If your DTI is too high, it could be harder to get approved.
Keeping your debts low and your income steady is the best way to improve your DTI. Paying off credit card balances and avoiding new debt can make a big difference.
Property and Occupancy Requirements
VA loans aren't just about who you are; they're also about where you'll live and the condition of that property. The VA has specific rules to protect both the veteran and the integrity of the loan program. Let's break down what you need to know.
Primary Residence Mandate
This is a big one. The VA loan is designed to help veterans purchase a home to live in, not as an investment property. You're generally expected to occupy the property within 60 days of closing. This requirement ensures that the benefit is going to those who truly need a home. If you're deployed or have other extenuating circumstances, exceptions can sometimes be made, but you'll need to provide documentation. The VA wants to see that you intend to make this house your home.
Property Condition Standards
The VA doesn't just hand out loans for any old property. They have Minimum Property Requirements (MPRs) to ensure the home is safe, sanitary, and structurally sound. This protects you from buying a money pit. Think of it as a basic safety check. The appraisal will look at things like:
Adequate heating and cooling
Safe electrical and plumbing systems
A structurally sound roof
Freedom from hazards like lead-based paint or asbestos
The VA appraisal isn't quite the same as a standard home inspection. It's primarily focused on ensuring the property meets the VA's minimum standards. It's always a good idea to get a separate, independent home inspection to uncover any potential issues that the VA appraiser might miss. This can save you headaches (and money) down the road.
Types of Eligible Properties
VA loans aren't just for single-family homes. You can use them to purchase a variety of property types, including:
Single-family homes
Condominiums (must be VA-approved)
Manufactured homes (must meet certain requirements)
Multi-unit properties (up to four units, as long as you occupy one)
Keep in mind that not all condos are VA-approved. The VA has a list of approved condo projects, and if the one you're interested in isn't on it, the process can be a bit more complicated. You might need to get the entire project approved, which can take time. Also, remember the occupancy rules – you have to live there!
The VA Loan Application Process in 2025
So, you're thinking about getting a VA home loan in 2025? Awesome! Let's break down the application process. It's not as scary as it might seem. Basically, it involves a few key steps, and understanding them can make the whole thing way smoother.
Confirming Your Eligibility
First things first: gotta make sure you actually qualify. The best way to do this is to get your Certificate of Eligibility (COE). You can usually request this through the VA website. Sometimes, they might ask for extra documents to verify your service history, so be prepared to provide those. It's a pretty important step, so don't skip it!
Finding a VA-Approved Lender
Next up, you'll need to find a lender who's approved by the VA. Banks, credit unions, mortgage companies – they can all work, as long as they're VA-approved. Here's a tip: lenders can set their own interest rates and fees (within VA guidelines, of course). So, shop around! Don't just go with the first one you find. Contact your regional VA loan center if you are having trouble finding a lender.
Getting Preapproved for a VA Home Loan
Okay, you've got your COE and a list of potential lenders. Now it's time to get preapproved. This means filling out an application and letting the lender take a look at your finances.
Getting preapproved is like having a golden ticket. It shows sellers you're serious and know how much you can borrow. Plus, it helps you narrow down your home search to a realistic price range.
Apply with a few different lenders to compare offers. It might seem like extra work, but it could save you a good chunk of change in the long run.
Benefits of a VA Home Loan
VA home loans are a fantastic option for eligible veterans, active-duty service members, and surviving spouses. They provide a path to homeownership with unique advantages not typically found in conventional mortgages. Let's explore some of the key benefits that make VA loans so appealing.
Zero Down Payment Advantage
One of the most significant benefits of a VA loan is the opportunity to purchase a home with no down payment. This can save you thousands of dollars upfront, making homeownership more accessible. For eligible veterans, this is a game-changer, especially for those just starting out or rebuilding after service.
Lower Interest Rates
VA loans often come with lower interest rates compared to conventional loans. Because the Department of Veterans Affairs guarantees a portion of the loan, lenders are willing to offer more favorable terms. This can translate to significant savings over the life of the loan, reducing your monthly payments and overall cost of homeownership.
No Mortgage Insurance Requirements
Unlike conventional loans, VA loans do not require private mortgage insurance (PMI). PMI is typically required when you put less than 20% down on a home and adds an extra monthly expense. Eliminating this requirement can save you a substantial amount of money each month. This is a huge advantage, making homeownership more affordable.
VA loans are a powerful tool for veterans and service members looking to achieve the dream of homeownership. The combination of no down payment, lower interest rates, and no mortgage insurance makes them an incredibly attractive option. It's worth exploring if you're eligible!
Key Considerations for VA Home Loan Funding
Understanding the VA Funding Fee
One of the most important things to understand about VA loans is the VA funding fee. This is a one-time payment that most borrowers need to make, and it helps keep the VA loan program running. The fee isn't based on the home's price, but rather a percentage of the total loan amount. For example, on a $200,000 loan, the funding fee could be several thousand dollars. You can pay it upfront at closing, or roll it into your loan balance. The amount of the funding fee depends on a few things, like whether it's your first time using a VA loan and how much of a down payment you make, if any. It's worth noting that the funding fee rates are the same for all military branches now.
Funding Fee Exemptions
Not everyone has to pay the VA funding fee. There are a few key exemptions to be aware of:
Veterans with a disability rating of 10% or higher from the VA are exempt.
Purple Heart recipients who are on active duty also don't have to pay the fee.
Surviving spouses who are eligible for a VA home loan are also typically exempt.
If you fall into one of these categories, make sure to provide the necessary documentation to your lender to claim your exemption. This can save you a significant amount of money upfront. It's a good idea to confirm your eligibility for a VA-backed purchase loan early in the process.
Refinancing Options with VA Loans
VA loans aren't just for buying a home; they can also be used to refinance an existing mortgage. There are a couple of different VA refinance options available. The most common is the Interest Rate Reduction Refinance Loan (IRRRL), often called a VA streamline refinance. This option is designed to help you lower your interest rate or change the terms of your loan. It typically requires less documentation and a faster approval process than a traditional refinance. Another option is a cash-out refinance, which allows you to borrow against your home's equity to get cash for things like home improvements or debt consolidation. Keep in mind that refinancing can affect your overall loan costs, so it's important to weigh the pros and cons carefully. Also, remember that VA home loans have no maximum loan limits for qualified borrowers.
Conclusion
So, there you have it. Getting a VA home loan in 2025 means you gotta tick off a few boxes, like proving your service, making sure the house is your main pad, and probably paying that funding fee up front. It's a pretty sweet deal for a lot of folks, especially with no down payment and all. Just remember to get your paperwork in order and maybe shop around for a lender. It's a big step, but totally doable if you know what's what.
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is a VA home loan?
A VA home loan is a special mortgage program backed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. It helps eligible service members, veterans, and some surviving spouses buy homes with great benefits like no down payment and lower interest rates.
Who can get a VA home loan?
Generally, you need to have served a certain amount of time in the military, depending on when and how you served. There are also rules about how you were discharged from service. The VA will give you a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) if you meet these requirements.
Do I need good credit to get a VA home loan?
While the VA doesn't set a minimum credit score, most lenders who offer VA loans will look at your credit history. They want to make sure you can handle the loan payments. Lenders also check your income and how much debt you already have to make sure you can afford the new home.
Can I use a VA loan to buy any type of house?
Yes, a big rule for VA loans is that the home you buy must be your main place of living. You can't use a VA loan to buy a vacation home or a rental property.
How do I apply for a VA home loan?
The VA loan application process starts with getting your Certificate of Eligibility. Then, you'll need to find a lender that works with VA loans. After that, you apply for pre-approval, which helps you know how much you can borrow before you start looking for a house.
What is the VA funding fee?
A VA funding fee is a one-time payment that helps cover the cost of the VA loan program for taxpayers. The amount depends on things like whether it's your first VA loan and if you're making a down payment. However, some veterans, like those with service-connected disabilities, don't have to pay this fee.

Step-by-Step Guide to Snag a Free Government Tablet
Let’s be honest: Applying for government stuff feels like trying to assemble IKEA furniture without the instructions. You know the tablet is free, but the process? Mysterious. Annoying. Maybe even a little sketchy. But guess what? I’ve helped my neighbor, my cousin, and even my kid’s soccer coach get theirs—and I’ll spill exactly how they did it. No fluff. No jargon. Just straight talk.
Here’s the deal: 1 in 4 low-income families still can’t afford decent tech (thanks, Pew Research). Kids are typing essays on phones, job applications time out on shaky Wi-Fi, and Grandma hasn’t Zoomed her grandkids in months. A free tablet fixes that. Let’s cut through the red tape.
Step 1: Are You Eligible? (Spoiler: You Probably Are)
The government doesn’t make this obvious, but the bar is lower than you think. You qualify if:
You earn under 29,160/year(single)or29,160/year(single)or60,000 for a family of 4.
You’re on any assistance program—SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, SSI, Section 8, or even free school lunches.
You live on Tribal lands (extra perks here).
Wait—did you just eye-roll? My cousin did too. She thought her part-time job disqualified her. Turns out, her daughter’s free school lunches got them approved. Check EVERY program you’re part of.
Pro hack: Use the National Verifier tool (link below)—it’s like a TikTok quiz but for eligibility. Takes 90 seconds. No email needed.
Step 2: Pick a Provider That Won’t Ghost You
Not all providers are equal. Some drag their feet. Others send tablets that feel like relics from 2012. Stick with these:
Assurance Wireless: Free tablet + data in states like CA, TX, FL. Avoid their customer service at 5 PM—it’s chaos.
Q Link Wireless: No contracts. Decent Samsung tablets. But set reminders to renew your ACP yearly—they’ll drop you fast.
Cintex Wireless: Unlimited data (yes, Netflix counts). Perfect for job training videos or Wednesday marathons.
Red flags: If a provider asks for $$ upfront, RUN. The tablet and plan are 100% free. Period.
Step 3: Paperwork—Without the Panic Attack
You’ll need:
ID: Driver’s license, passport, or that state ID buried in your junk drawer.
Proof of Income/Benefits: Recent pay stub, tax return, or a screenshot of your SNAP portal (yes, screenshots work!).
Proof of Address: Utility bill, lease, or even a letter from a shelter.
Lost your documents? My buddy used a library printout of his Medicaid approval email. Got through. Be scrappy.
Life saver: Create a folder on your phone called “FREE TABLET.” Dump pics of your docs there. Thank yourself later.
Step 4: Apply Like You’re Ordering Takeout
Online is fastest:
Go to your provider’s site. (Pro tip: Use Chrome—their sites hate Safari.)
Click “Apply for ACP” or “Get Free Tablet.”
Upload your docs. No scanner? Use your phone camera + the Google Drive app to make PDFs.
Submit. Screenshot your confirmation number like it’s a concert ticket.
Mailing it? Send copies (NOT originals) via certified mail. Track it like your ex’s Instagram.
In-person: Libraries and nonprofits help FOR FREE. Bring coffee—they’re underpaid heroes.
Step 5: The Wait (and How to Not Lose Your Mind)
Approval takes 7-10 days. Use this time to:
Clear space on your Wi-Fi router.
Check your email spam folder daily. Approval emails love hiding there.
Got it? Sweet. Your tablet ships in 5-10 days. Most are refurbished Androids—nothing fancy, but they work. My neighbor’s kid got one with a cracked screen protector (thanks, USPS). She called Assurance, and they sent a new one.
Denied? Don’t quit. Common fixes:
Resubmit a clearer ID photo (glare is the enemy).
Switch providers. Some are pickier than others.
Burned by the Process? Here’s Your Fix Kit
“Tablet arrived broken!” Demand a replacement. Providers have 30-day warranties.
“I moved!” Update your address ASAP—before it ships.
“Can I get an iPad?” Nope. But pair the free data plan with your own device.
FAQs—Answered by Someone Who’s Been There
“Is this a scam?” Nope. But scammers exist. Never pay fees or give your SSN to sketchy sites. Stick to the providers I listed.
“What if I’m homeless?” Use a shelter address, outreach program, or even a friend’s place. You still qualify.
“Can I keep my phone number?” Yep! Tell your provider to port it over.
“Will they cancel me if my income changes?” Nope. Once approved, you’re good for a year. Reapply then.
Don’t Skip These Links
National Verifier Tool: Eligibility check in 2 mins.
FCC Complaint Hub: Report shady providers here.
Local Library: Free help with applications (and free Wi-Fi while you wait).
Go Get That Tablet—Before It’s Too Late
Government programs vanish faster than free samples at Costco. I’ve seen single moms use these tablets to finish nursing degrees and teens land first jobs via LinkedIn. Your turn.
Today’s Game Plan:
Check eligibility (link above).
Pick a provider (Assurance for speed, Cintex for data).
Apply before the funding well dries up.
Still skeptical? Think of it this way: Worst case, you waste 20 minutes. Best case? Free tech that changes your life. Not bad odds.

Texas Home Loan Refinance Guide
Are you a homeowner in Texas? Refinancing your mortgage can be a strategic financial decision, but timing is crucial. With fluctuating interest rates and changing market conditions, it's essential to determine if refinancing aligns with your financial goals. This guide will help you assess whether refinancing your mortgage in Texas is the right move for you.
Understanding Mortgage Refinancing
Refinancing replaces your existing home loan with a new one, often to secure a lower interest rate, adjust the loan term, or access home equity. Many Texas homeowners refinance to reduce monthly payments, shorten loan duration, or consolidate debt.
When Is the Right Time to Refinance?
Choosing the optimal time for mortgage refinancing can maximize your financial benefits. Here are some key scenarios where refinancing might make sense:
1. Lower Interest Rates
One of the most common reasons for refinancing is to take advantage of lower interest rates. If current mortgage rates are significantly lower than when you first secured your loan, refinancing could save you thousands of dollars over the life of your mortgage.
2. Reduced Monthly Payments
If you want to improve cash flow, refinancing into a lower interest rate or extending your loan term can help reduce your monthly mortgage payments. However, extending your loan term may result in paying more interest over time, so it's important to evaluate the long-term impact.
3. Improved Credit Score
A higher credit score can qualify you for better loan terms and lower interest rates. If your credit score has improved since you initially took out your mortgage, refinancing could help you secure a more favorable rate.
4. Switching from an ARM to a Fixed-Rate Mortgage
If you currently have an Adjustable-Rate Mortgage (ARM) and want more predictable payments, refinancing into a fixed-rate mortgage can provide long-term stability—especially if interest rates are expected to rise in the future.
5. Tapping into Home Equity
Home values in Texas have been rising in recent years. If you’ve built significant equity, a cash-out refinance can provide funds for home improvements, debt consolidation, or other financial needs.
How to Start the Refinancing Process
If refinancing seems like the right choice for you, follow these steps:
Check Your Credit Score – A higher credit score can help you qualify for better loan terms.
Compare Mortgage Lenders – Shop around and compare interest rates from multiple low-interest mortgage lenders in Texas to secure the best deal.
Calculate Potential Savings – Use a mortgage refinance calculator to estimate your savings.
Gather Financial Documents – Prepare essential documents like tax returns, pay stubs, and bank statements.
Apply for the New Loan – Once approved, carefully review the loan terms before closing.
Final Thoughts
Refinancing your mortgage in Texas can help you save money, lower monthly payments, or access home equity. However, it’s essential to consider current interest rates, your financial situation, and long-term homeownership plans before making a decision.
If you’re unsure whether refinancing is the right choice, consult with a trusted Texas mortgage lender like Aliton Finance Texas. Our expert professionals can help you determine if refinancing is the best financial move for you.

How to Refinance a Personal Loan
Refinancing a personal loan can be a smart financial move, helping you secure a lower interest rate, reduce monthly payments, or alter the loan term to better fit your financial situation. However, refinancing isn't always straightforward and requires careful consideration and planning. This guide will walk you through the steps on how to refinance a personal loan, ensuring you make the most informed decision possible.
Understanding Loan Refinancing
Refinancing a personal loan involves taking out a new loan to pay off an existing one. The new loan usually comes with different terms, such as a lower interest rate or extended repayment period, which can provide financial relief and potentially save you money in the long run.
Benefits of Refinancing
- Lower Interest Rates: A reduced interest rate can save you money on interest over the life of the loan.
- Lower Monthly Payments: Extending the loan term can reduce your monthly payment, easing your cash flow.
- Debt Consolidation: Refinancing can help you consolidate multiple debts into a single loan with a lower interest rate.
- Improved Loan Terms: You might secure better terms, such as removing prepayment penalties or switching from a variable to a fixed interest rate.
Potential Drawbacks
- Extended Loan Term: While this can lower your monthly payments, it may increase the total amount of interest paid over the life of the loan.
- Fees and Costs: Some lenders charge origination fees or other costs that can offset the benefits of refinancing.
- Credit Impact: Refinancing requires a credit check, which can temporarily lower your credit score.
Steps to Refinance a Personal Loan
1. Evaluate Your Current Loan
Before you refinance, assess your current loan’s terms, including the interest rate, monthly payment, and remaining balance. This will help you understand what you need from a new loan to make refinancing worthwhile.
2. Check Your Credit Score
Your credit score plays a significant role in the terms you can qualify for when refinancing. Obtain a copy of your credit report and check your score. If your credit has improved since you took out your original loan, you might qualify for better terms.
3. Shop Around for the Best Rates
Research various lenders to find the best refinancing options. Consider banks, credit unions, and online lenders. Compare interest rates, fees, and loan terms to find the most favorable offer.
4. Prequalify with Multiple Lenders
Prequalifying allows you to see potential loan offers without affecting your credit score. Provide your financial information to get prequalified with multiple lenders and compare their offers. Look for the following:
- Interest Rates: Aim for a lower rate than your current loan.
- Loan Terms: Consider the length of the loan and how it affects your monthly payments and total interest.
- Fees: Be aware of any origination fees, application fees, or prepayment penalties.
5. Calculate Potential Savings
Use a loan refinancing calculator to estimate your potential savings. Compare the total cost of your current loan with the cost of the new loan, considering interest rates, monthly payments, and any fees involved. Ensure the savings outweigh the costs of refinancing.
6. Gather Necessary Documentation
Lenders will require documentation to process your refinancing application. Commonly required documents include:
- Proof of Income: Pay stubs, tax returns, or bank statements.
- Identification: Government-issued ID, such as a driver’s license or passport.
- Current Loan Information: Statements showing your current loan balance and terms.
7. Submit Your Application
Once you’ve chosen the best offer, complete the application process with the lender. Provide all required documentation and information accurately. Be prepared for a hard credit inquiry, which can temporarily impact your credit score.
8. Review and Sign the Agreement
If approved, carefully review the loan agreement. Ensure all terms match what was offered during prequalification, and clarify any discrepancies with the lender. Once satisfied, sign the agreement to finalize the refinance.
9. Pay Off Your Original Loan
The new lender will typically pay off your existing loan directly. Confirm with both lenders that the old loan is closed, and ensure you receive documentation confirming the payoff.
10. Begin Repayment on the New Loan
Start making payments on your new loan according to the agreed-upon terms. Consider setting up automatic payments to avoid missing any due dates and to possibly qualify for an interest rate discount.
Tips for Successful Refinancing
Maintain Good Credit Habits
Continue to pay your bills on time, keep your credit card balances low, and avoid opening new credit accounts unless necessary. Good credit habits will help you secure the best terms when refinancing.
Refinance at the Right Time
Refinance when interest rates are low, your credit score has improved, or your financial situation changes. Timing your refinance correctly can maximize your savings.
Avoid Multiple Refinances
While refinancing can be beneficial, doing it too frequently can incur fees and negatively impact your credit score. Ensure that each refinance provides significant benefits.
Conclusion
Refinancing a personal loan can offer significant financial benefits, including lower interest rates, reduced monthly payments, and improved loan terms. By carefully evaluating your current loan, shopping around for the best rates, and understanding the potential savings and costs, you can make an informed decision. Follow the steps outlined in this guide to successfully refinance your personal loan and improve your financial situation.

Refinancing Your Home Loan - What You Need to Know
Refinancing Your Home Loan involves moving the balance you still owe on your mortgage loan to a new lender and possibly changing the terms of the loan. It’s a significant financial decision that can help you save money or improve your financial position, but it’s important to understand what you’re getting into before you apply.
The most common reason for refinancing is to reduce an interest rate, which can impact your monthly payments and overall cost of your mortgage. Mortgage rates are constantly changing, so it’s important to monitor them closely and apply when you know you can take advantage of a lower rate.
A second common reason for refinancing is to switch from an adjustable-rate mortgage (ARM) to a fixed-rate mortgage. This can give you peace of mind and certainty over your monthly payments, as well as protect against potential interest rate increases in the future.
Lastly, some homeowners refinance to consolidate debt and reduce their overall interest costs. This can be a smart move if you can make the additional monthly or fortnightly repayments comfortably. However, this is only a good idea if you can commit to paying off the debt you’re consolidating before your mortgage ends.
In addition to comparing interest rates, you should also pay attention to refinance fees, including closing costs and loan application charges. These can add up and may not make the savings from a lower interest rate worth it.
Many lenders allow you to get a rate quote without an actual application, which can be a great way to gauge your options. However, when you actually apply for the refinance, your mortgage lender will perform a credit inquiry and may require other documentation, such as recent pay stubs, federal tax returns, bank/brokerage statements and your credit score. If you’re able to gather all of this information ahead of time, it can make the process go much smoother and faster.
Once your application is approved, you’ll need to complete the refinance closing procedures and pay any associated costs. If you’re combining your first and second mortgages, your lender will need to ‘subordinate’ your HELOC into your new mortgage. This can be a lengthy process and should be discussed early in your application.
When you close, your lender will give you a certificate of settlement that details all the expenses you’ll be responsible for. Review it carefully and double-check that all the fees have been included in your final refinance agreement.
While the benefits of refinancing are numerous, it’s important to take the time to carefully consider your goals and do the math before you start the application process. The last thing you want is to end up with a loan that has the same duration as your original mortgage and doesn’t serve you well in the long term. By taking the time to do your homework, you can ensure that your refinance will truly benefit you down the road.
At Triple M Finance, our experience and a wealth of industry connections allow us to assist you with your application from start to finish and make the process simple. We take the time to get to know each and every client’s indvidual needs and circumstances to ensure we provide you with your ideal financial solution.

How Can You Qualify for the Best Home Loans?
Purchasing a home is a significant milestone in most people's lives. However, finding the best home loans to finance your dream home can often be a daunting task. Lenders have specific requirements that must be met to qualify for favourable terms and interest rates.
Explore how you can qualify for the best home loans, ensuring that you secure the financing you need to make your homeownership dreams a reality.
Establish Good Credit
When applying for Home Loans, your credit score plays a crucial role in determining your eligibility and the interest rates you'll qualify for. Here's what you can do to establish good credit:
Pay your bills on time: Consistently making timely payments for credit cards, loans, and utility bills will help boost your credit score.
Manage your debts: Keep your credit card balances low and pay off outstanding debts as much as possible to maintain a healthy debt-to-income ratio.
Review your credit reports: Regularly review your credit reports for any errors or discrepancies. Dispute and resolve any inaccuracies promptly.

Save for a Down Payment
Saving for a down payment is an essential step in qualifying for the best Home Loans For Self Employed. Here's what you need to consider:
Determine your target down payment: Different loan programs require different down payment percentages. Aim to save home's purchase price for a conventional loan to avoid private mortgage insurance.
Automate your savings: Set up automatic transfers from your paycheck or checking account to a dedicated savings account to consistently contribute to your down payment fund.
Reduce unnecessary expenses: Cut back on non-essential expenses and create a budget to allocate more money towards your down payment savings.
Maintain Stable Employment
Stable employment is another crucial factor that lenders consider when evaluating your loan application. Here's what you can do to demonstrate stability:
Avoid changing jobs: Lenders prefer applicants who have a consistent employment history. Avoid switching jobs before applying for a home loan if possible.
Maintain a steady income: Regularly receiving a steady income, such as a salaried position or stable self-employment, can increase your chances of loan approval.
Gather necessary documentation: Be prepared to provide documentation such tax returns, pay stubs, and bank statements to verify your employment and income stability.
Manage Your Debt-to-Income Ratio
Lenders analyse your debt-to-income (DTI) ratio to assess your ability to repay a loan. Here's how you can manage your DTI ratio effectively:
Pay down existing debts: Reduce your outstanding debts, such as credit card balances and student loans, to lower your DTI ratio.
Avoid taking on new debts: Minimise taking on new debts, such as financing a large purchase or applying for additional credit cards, before applying for a home loan.
Increase your income: Consider ways to increase your income, such as taking on a side job or negotiating a raise, to improve your DTI ratio.
Shop Around for the Best Home Loan
Not all home loans are created equal. It's important to shop around and compare loan options from different lenders to find the best terms that suit your financial situation. Here's what you should do:
Research different lenders: Research the offerings of multiple lenders, including banks, credit unions, and online mortgage lenders, to find the best rates and terms.
Get pre-approved: Obtain pre-approval from at least three lenders to compare the loan terms they offer. Pre-approval will also give you a better understanding of your borrowing capacity.
Consider working with a mortgage broker: Mortgage brokers can simplify the process by matching you with potential lenders based on your financial situation and needs.
Conclusion
Qualifying for the best home loans requires careful preparation and attention to various factors such as creditworthiness, savings, stable employment, debt-to-income ratio, and shopping around for the best options. By establishing good credit, saving for a down payment, maintaining stable employment, managing your debt-to-income ratio, and exploring various loan options, you can increase your chances of securing the best home loan for your needs.
Remember, a little preparation can go a long way in achieving your homeownership dreams.

A Thriller Film
pairing: director!Jungkook x fem!Reader
genre: oneshot, yandere, smut
synopsis: Jungkook's life is his movies, but people don't know his movies are his life. As an anonymous director, no one can suspect him as the villain in a story, but he leaves a clue in his movie about you.
warnings: smoking, stalking, murder, solo masturbation, public fingering
word count: 5.4k
a/n: i don't know why i put so much effort into this but we love to see it flop 🥰

Smoking is bad, but there are worse things in life.
Jungkook noticed you for the first time when a cigarette was hanging off his lips, exhaling the stress from the process of organizing a new thriller film with a less than cooperative crew. Fresh out of high school, you were bright and skipping on the sidewalk in the early hours of the morning. What would such a young woman, applying for colleges left and right, be so happy about?
He didn't know you at the time, but looking at you was like a breath of fresh air. While he survived off of coffee and nicotine, you seemed to have a lot of happiness to share. Your smile was incompatible with his frown.
So he ignored you when you passed him with your earphones blasting a song so loud, he involuntarily caught the lyrics.
Fall... back... in... to... place.
The second time he saw you, he was smoking again and you were just as happy as the day before. How can someone be so in tune with themselves, with life? The same song played from your earphones, the one he listened to on repeat after searching up the lyrics: Space Song. An urge to approach you surged up in him, but he only watched you as you walked past him. A single glance from you was all it took to anticipate tomorrow.
Today, when he recognizes you from your clothing first; colorful, silky, gorgeous. So much personality in one outfit, a polar opposite to his casual black outfit in jeans and a plain shirt. Even your bag is eye-catching, and he flicked the ash off of his cigarette before nodding at you as you passed the bus stop, reaching the front of his studio.
Why did your eyes just widen? You acknowledge him with a friendly smile, and go on your merry way. That is until he lightly taps your shoulder, and you turn instantly.
"Hey," he greets before you can utter a word, "where are you always rushing off to?"
Your lips part in surprise; the man you secretly - guiltily - side-eyed for the past few days noticed you when you weren't looking? "I have an interview. Well, a few," you chuckle.
"For what?" he tilts his head curiously and takes another drag from his stick.
"Career counseling," you plainly reply, but it sounds enthused. "I'm a clueless graduate." Your hands clutch your tote bag before you discreetly check the time on your wrist. You're going to be running late soon.
"You interested in cinematography?" Smoke follows his words, but you aren't fazed.
"I'm interested in all forms of art, why?"
He notices you checking your watch again. "I'm a film director. This is my studio," he cranes his neck behind him. "You can apply for an internship here. Maybe for a stylist even," he points at your floral romper with his chin as his eyes trail.
You shift your weight on your left foot when his stare flusters you, and you consider his flattering suggestion for only a second before saying, "thank you for the offer, but I need to go now," you grimace sheepishly, "can I think about it?"
"Take your time," he reassures with a sly smile and inhales from his stick, filling his lungs with the sweet scent of your perfume alongside.
He doesn't look away when you walk off with a shy wave, entranced by your struts until he's called back in. It's with newfound inspiration that he's inside of his studio.
The storyboard of his upcoming project needs a few tweaks, and he doesn't fail in enhancing his crew with a different idea.

It’s been a week. Okay, it might’ve been shorter, but Jungkook is impatient. Besides, it didn’t help when he saw you holding hands with someone... so less than. It really baffled him to see you with a guy who wore such shabby clothes. He looks like the type that Jungkook would cast for a flop character.
The two of you are like a toy display across his studio in that cutesy, obnoxious café with a smoothie in the middle of your booth. He chuckles as he lights up another stick when he notices the two straws in the single cup. Cliché, cheesy, but cute in a childish sense. Your age shines through the amateur romance between you and that loser.
It especially shows when you look to the side with a laugh and lock eyes with him; so flustered that you gasp and focus back on your date. What makes you so shy about seeing him? You seemed so confident during your conversation two days ago.
He whistles when he notices a stray dog in an alleyway. You look at him as well but don't hear anything beyond the glass wall, but it catches his attention regardless. He whistles again before saying in a hushed voice, "come here girl." It's difficult to suppress a smile when you gaze at him questioningly, as if trying to decipher his words. "Naive little girl," he mouths as he smokes, "what are you doing with that boy?"
He almost chokes when you take out your wallet in front of a waiter; are you paying for him? That's why you ordered one drink - so you could share? Jungkook isn't cruel but, he finds it laughable that your boyfriend is so... unappealing. He can't help but wonder why you're with him; maybe his face? The boy is somewhat handsome, but he only has his facial features to go by. It's rather strange for Jungkook to think about this in the first place, so he gets back inside his workplace after harshly shooing the stray dog away with a stomp of his foot.

"I'd like to start my internship today."
Jungkook runs his eyes up and down your body while leaning against a brick wall. "Paid?"
"I-I'll do it for free. Besides, I don't know if I'll even work in this industry," you twiddle your fingers while smiling up at him. He intimidates you, but this morning you decided you did enough thinking and here you are, an aspiring stylist all of a sudden.
"Get inside," he nods at the door before stubbing his cigarette and following you to his studio. "You know what you're going to do?"
"I'm going to decide the outfits, right?" The place looks cozy to you, with its minimalistic interior design and blunt switch between the stories. The first floor is strictly for business, with lined up cameras, lights and a microphone. There is even a green screen! And the second floor seems to be more of a resting area with its couches and open laptops, but you can't make out much from the entrance. Jungkook starts walking ahead of you, making a beeline for the black stairs. You tail behind him and smile at anyone who notices you, which isn't a lot of people. It's not crowded.
"Right. We're still working on a storyline, haven't finished it yet so it's possible this project might not be published. You with me so far?" he glances at you, and at your firm nod, continues, "when we finish planning, scripting and shit, you come to play."
"So what do I do now?" you innocently inquire and watch him plop down on the red velvet couch. He clicks on the space of his keyboard to light up his screen.
"I have an idea for a character, and I want to know how you would design her," he vaguely explains as he scrolls through his document.
"You want me to sketch it or explain?"
"Let's hear you out first. Irene," he suddenly calls out loudly.
"Yes?" a female responds from downstairs. You see a woman with a grey cap look up at him, her attire nothing short of casual.
"Come here."
She skips a few steps while climbing up the stairs at his command. You're not awkward when you greet her, and she offers a coy smile.
"This girl - what did you say your name was?" he asks you. You tell him and he continues, "she's going to be our intern. I want you to critique her with me."
"What's she in for?" Irene asks before sitting across from him.
"Wardrobe stylist."
Her eyes widen as she takes a second look at you. Your style is definitely unique, but... immature. She has half the mind to not question Jungkook about his choice.
"Okay..." she trails. "I'm Irene, by the way. I'm going to be an executive producer for the upcoming film."
"Nice to meet you," you brightly chirp. "Sir?"
Jungkook smirks at your addressing of him. "Yes?"
"What is your name, if I may ask?"
"I'm Jeon Jungkook, but you may know me for my pen name Shin Dong-hyuk."
Your mouth falls open when you instantly recognize the name. "Wait, what? You directed My Time?" you incredulously wonder aloud.
My Time is a movie that took the world by a storm; it brought recognition to the whole country for its popularity and clever writing. You never knew the name was a pseudonym, however. It's a suspense genre, about the life of a crazed fanboy who is obsessed with a foreign celebrity. He stalks her on the internet, has a fanpage of her and pays a hefty amount of money to strangers to update him on her whereabouts. He's portrayed as a young college student in the story, and inevitably runs out of cash from reckless spending. When she gets into a dating scandal, he goes on a theft spree and flies out to meet and confront her. It ends with her murder when he finds her with another man in a hotel room, and he stabs himself in the heart afterwards. There are a bunch of clues that foreshadow his ending, from his family life to his friendships. It's an amazing thriller, and you researched his name in the credits to find more of his works after seeing the movie but to no avail; there is only one listed.
"That's me," he nonchalantly reveals as if he didn't just give you the shock of your life. "Don't tell anyone though, will you?"
You whimsically put on an imagery zipper over your mouth while trying to recover from your racing heart.
"I don't have a clear outline, but the female lead is going to be naive but charming. She has to stand out, alright? Happy, extraordinary, special."
"We didn't decide on that," Irene butts in with a displeased expression.
"I forgot to tell you, I deleted our previous plan."
"You did wh-"
"What do you think?" he turns to you as he ignores Irene's shrieks. "What color are you imagining?"
You feel nervous when he puts you on the spotlight after revealing his identity. You close your eyes with a deep inhale before answering, "I'm thinking red and green, like Christmas. There should be a hint of white as well."
Jungkook drinks in your outfit before grinning mischievously. "Perfect." All of your colors.

Stalking is bad, but there are worse things in life.
Is it such a bad idea to follow you home when it's dark out? He kept you for a long time in the studio, allowing you to dress up a mannequin with all sorts of costumes you had in mind in the backroom. He's certain you had fun with him when you left with a permanent grin on your face.
You live with your parents, and he knows for sure he's at least 5 years older than you. You look about 19, so he's assuming he's only 8 years older.
A small villa with windows all around, he observes, before glancing back at your bedroom. The lights are on and you're swinging your legs with excitement on your bed after you face planted on the mattress. He didn't see you greet your parents before running off to your room, and he can't help the smile growing on his face at your hyperactivity. It was like an instinct to walk you home in secret and he isn't sure why he is still watching you. He should look away when you get off of your bed and heave your shirt over your chest, but instead he steps away from the lamp post to hide from the light.
You're changing, and he can't take his eyes off of you. As if that wasn't enough, you unclasp your bra without even pulling the curtains. Do you know he's there? The thought excites him, and his pants begin to tighten around his crotch. He lowly whistles at you, but you don't hear him again. You do look outside for a few seconds while stretching your arms, however, and he's certain you have a connection to him.
He leaves when you put on your pajamas with the image of your bare tits imprinted on his mind. He doesn't head home first, as the studio is only a few minutes away from your home and he wants to leave you a gift.
When the familiar building enters his vision, he doesn't waste time in unlocking the door and switching on a single dim light. He rushes to the backroom after locking the entrance for a second time and unzips his jeans as he goes. You were here not too long ago, and he can pinpoint exactly where you stood while striding to each corner with purpose. Bending, crouching, leaning, doing just about anything to tease him.
Now that he can imagine your perky nipples realistically, he immediately takes out his length from his restraints and picks up a random handkerchief to pump himself with. He doesn't stop to think over his actions; he's acting on urges, on impulse. Never has he ever done something like this.
He's rather relaxed as he sits down on an idle stool to close his eyes and run his hand up and down his shaft. What he would do to press your tits against his cock while he slides it up and down, smearing his cum all over your lips while you sleep. You would swallow it without a second thought once he finishes in your gaping mouth, and wonder why there's a dull ache in your breasts the next morning.
His breaths grow shallow the faster he strokes himself, the more he thinks about using every part of you for his pleasure while you're knocked out cold. He involuntarily thrusts into the air while quiet moans slip out of his open mouth. Something about how taboo it would be to fuck you while you're unconscious turns him on so much. Would that be something you're into?
The handkerchief is so soft, so silky against his length, he can almost imagine it to be your hand. He starts twisting his hand around his cock, from the base to the tip as his other hand palms his balls before he begins to reach climax. Strings of cusses fall out of his mouth when he quickens his pace, the fabric against his skin resounding in his ears before he finally spurts out his cum into the cloth.
"Fuck," he exhales as he coats his makeshift glove with his release. White on white doesn't make much of a difference, and he's panting as he folds the handkerchief to rub it evenly so it sinks in completely.
He leaves it on the stool after zipping his pants, and his eyes twinkle under the moonlight on his journey home.

You aren't alone when you walk to work. Jungkook is taking his usual smoke break while watching you swing your interlocked hands back and forth with the guy next to you. Your smiles exude the same aura, and Jungkook sarcastically notes how compatible the two of you are. The boxy grin shines with the sun, but it doesn't hide the boy's worn out clothes.
"Good morning, Jungkook," you greet before introducing your boyfriend. "This is Taehyung, Taehyung meet Jungkook. I'm going to be under his wing until I decide my major."
"Hello, Taehyung," Jungkook coldly says before blowing smoke in his face.
Taehyung scrunches his nose before chirping, "hi!" He then turns to you and whispers, "I thought you wanted to study medicine."
You shake your head dismissively with a light laugh before responding, "it's just an internship." You let go of his hand and bid farewell with a peck on his cheek before going inside the studio.
"Well, have a good day," Taehyung smiles as he's about to leave before Jungkook holds out his hand to block the way.
"Taehyung, who is your girlfriend?"
"Um," he furrows his brows before saying your name.
"And who are you?"
At Jungkook's blunt question, Taehyung pauses and takes a step back. "What do you mean? Like my full name?"
"No, who the fuck are you? What is your contribution to society? What do you do for a living? What are you wearing?"
"Sir, I-" Taehyung's stammering is cut short when Jungkook asks, "how much money for you to stop leeching off of her?"
He scoffs, "excuse me? I'm not leeching off of anyone, and I'm sure as hell not breaking up with her for your money." Taehyung's face heats up from the shameless confrontation, and he starts walking in the opposite direction.
"So you're not going to leave her?"
Taehyung doesn't turn to look at him as he emphasizes, "no."
"Good."
He abruptly stops in his tracks. "What?"
"Your dedication is admirable," Jungkook comments with a shrug. "I'm satisfied with your answer."
"Were you testing me?"
"Bingo."
He starts chuckling before shaking his head. "I always knew directors were crazy; you scared me for a second."
"Where you headed now?" Jungkook smoothly switches the subject, but notes the fact that you've spoken about him to your boyfriend.
"I have a farm two blocks away." When Jungkook raises a brow, he explains, "I stayed the night with her, so I decided to drop her off before leaving."
"Want me to drop you off?"
It's a kind offer, really, but Taehyung is still put off by the insults thrown his way just a minute ago. Doesn't he have work to do anyway? "That's alright, thank you, but I'll just take the bus. Have a good one, Jungkook."
Jungkook doesn't stop him as they both wave goodbye. He doesn't bother putting out his cigarette before going inside.
Where would be a farm only two blocks away from the city center? It has to be a lie.
You're wandering around the place as to not awkwardly wait for Jungkook who sharply inhales at the sight. He calls your name.
"Yes?"
"What do you want to become?"
"I," you look at him funny with a laugh, "I still don't know."
"Then take a gap year."
Your brows shoot up to your hairline. "Why?"
"I want you to be invested in this project completely. Once the planning is finished, I'll give you a salary. What do you think?"
He's asking you to work full-time for him. Not as an intern, but an employee and you are beyond willing after only being here for two days. He's a famous director; how can one pass up this opportunity?
"I'd love that."

You noticed that Jungkook has a very unique way of working. You've heard that he's been keeping his crew until late at night, already having an outline for his plot and he's moved onto screenwriting. He apparently disappears randomly throughout the evening after you leave, and you've had some different experiences with him of your own.
He asked you to steal from the wardrobe of his backroom. "Take everything that you'd wear," he said before stepping out of the room.
When you confusedly compiled all of the clothes that caught your eye under your arm, he took them from you and brought them upstairs with a huge grin. "Keep that one," he pointed at the handkerchief you thought about lacing your neck with.
Taehyung's quiet with you. He doesn't respond to your texts, doesn't call you, doesn't come over. You're too busy spending time with Jungkook to check up on him, and it serves as a well distraction when you keep glancing at your notifications. It hurts, especially when your wallpaper is a picture of you and him. It hurts because he isn't with you in your proudest moments when you were with him even at his parents' funeral.
The only thing keeping you happy is casting. Jungkook asked you to make a list of all the actors that would suit his characters after giving you a vague description of their traits. The budget isn't an issue, and you're having so much fun. He makes you forget your worries without even trying.
Jungkook intimidates you, but he's so lovely.
A mere "aspiring" stylist is casting actors for a movie. How many people can brag about that? You almost stumble on the stairs as you quickly climb up with Jungkook's laptop in your hands. He gave it to you for research purposes as he drew a rough storyboard with Irene.
"I made a list," you exclaim brightly. Heads shoot in your direction and you sheepishly grin at your volume. Jungkook's eyes linger on your covered neck; it's almost like a collar.
He whistles and beckons you to sit next to him. You obey and anxiously present your list to the professionals; you have no idea how to go on about this task, and no one guided you. You're certain you look utterly amateur in front of them.
Irene is inspecting your list without hinting her thoughts as Jungkook asks, "who are your favorites?"
"Well, I think Kim Namjoon is um, suitable for the male lead's role and Joy-"
"It's decided then," he claps his hands twice without hearing out Irene who scowls at him.
"You're not cooperating with us," she voices in a complaint, "why are you always calling the shots on your own? These are major decisions-"
"Ms. Bae, don't take any offence now. I'm taking your opinions into accounts when I make these decisions. Unless you have an issue with something, let's not dwell on this, hm?"
She sighs as you stand there awkwardly. She's upset, but stays silent.
"The two leads are Kim Namjoon and Park Soo-young. The team will decide the rest of the cast, thank you," he informs you with a ghost of a smile.
"Of course," you breathe.

You don't know how long it is supposed to take to shoot a film, but surely it's not this fast paced. Jungkook is relentless with his production; there are hardly any breaks in between takes. There are bags under his eyes from pulling all nighters to work on his scripts.
He is a perfectionist and a hard worker, as you've come to find out. You feel bad for the amount of times the actors recited their lines when they didn't capture a scene right in Jungkook's eyes. It was an honor for you to meet these famous people beyond a screen, and you were strictly ordered to do Joy's makeup only. You are her stylist, but the professional one does help you after she's finished with Namjoon's.
"Cut," Jungkook says into the speaker. You're located in a rented mansion outside of the city, but you can't enjoy it when everyone is so stressed. "Start over from line "he's leeching off of you"."
Even actors can't hide their annoyance from having to do a 25th take of one scene. Jungkook pays them enough to go on with this torture however, so they have no room to complain.
They start over and you force yourself to watch them again and again.
"Oh my god, cut!" You can hardly resist groaning yourself. Everyone on set is overworked, and you know the director has it the worst, but it's overwhelming you too at this point. You flinch when your name is called. "Act Joy's lines, will you?"
"Me?" you point at yourself in surprise.
"Go ahead," he urges with a nod.
You have no idea how to act, and it's nervewracking having to do it in front of A-listers. You pick up the script handed to you from another woman and start reading:
"He's not leeching off of me," you pause to inhale shakily; your hands tremble from the heavy stares on you.
"I'm his family, the only one he has left. No one would know if he was gone, and he trusts me to look after him without having to dangle a dollar bill over his head."
This goes on until the final scene, and the retakes cut down to half.

A few months pass, and it is time for the premiere. The movie, simply titled Pretty Girl, easily got a green light for display in theatres, and it's been heavily promoted on YouTube and TV. You are excited to your core, and watching the celebrities walk the red carpet was a first for you. Jungkook easily blends in with the crowd as he once again didn't reveal his real name in the credits, but his pen name is gaining more and more recognition. You have never seen the movie throughout the editing procedure, but you can't wait to see everyone's efforts show on the big screen.
You're dressed fancily because Jungkook asked you to go with him, and the two of you are sitting in the crowded theatre with not a single empty seat to be seen. Even the entrance is decorated in retro style to fit in with the movie's theme! The jazz music playing in the halls reaches your ears, and your knees are bouncing in anticipation of the movie. Jungkook is smiling as he listens to you ramble.
"I can't believe I played a part in this whole project!" you gush with shaking fists. "I met the best director I know, and I worked for him! This all feels like a dream... No one even likes my style, and yet I became a stylist!"
"I love your style," he denies, "even now you have all the attention in the room."
"Pfft," you roll your eyes playfully, "they all think I must look weird. I tried to wear something classy so I don't stand out, but it hasn't been working out."
"Keep it that way, you're beautiful like this."
Heat creeps up to your cheeks at his compliment and you squeak, "thank you."
He doesn't get to relish your flustered state as everyone goes quiet once the movie starts.
The time period is unclear, as the language is modern but the filter is black and white. The first scene is in a bar, a man in a suit eyeing a woman with a date who is an outcast with his clothes. They're washed out and ugly, but he looks handsome with his dazzling smile at the woman.
An involuntary grin spreads across your face when you hear their dialogue.
"I want to touch someone's shoulder to see how they react. Did you see how they looked at me when I walked in here? I think they think I'm your sugar baby or something," Jimin's character jokes with a laugh.
"I know! They're all so boujee, but I'm willing to be your mommy without sugar," Joy winks. They have fun until Jimin leaves to the bathroom and Namjoon's character approaches her, who has been staring at her ever since they walked in. Joy is offered a modeling career, and she accepts after she's told that her fashion only works with her because of how beautiful she is. She's bashful when Namjoon gives her a business card.
Jungkook's film is only over an hour long, but everything is timed so perfectly. His directory is straightforward, and you admire his work until a song comes on.
"That's my favorite song!" you whisper into his ear. It's Space Song by Beach House.
"Mine too," he whispers back.
There are montages of photo shoots, Joy's rise to fame in the modeling industry, but the trouble is Jimin, her boyfriend. Namjoon confronts him one day when Jimin drops her off to her new workplace.
"How can someone so poor be able to court a woman like her?" he asks rhetorically.
"Excuse me, Sir?" Jimin is offended until Namjoon laughs it off and reveals it was a joke. The audience sighs in relief, and all is fun and games until Jimin is brutally murdered next to a dumpster. You gasp at the gore scene and glance at Jungkook, until something dawns on you.
The story is starting to sound familiar. Was this movie inspired by your encounters? Your eyes light up as you give your utmost attention to the movie. The line between reality and fiction is beginning to blur.
Joy goes to Namjoon's house, where the dialogue you first reenacted comes to play. The shots are gorgeous, the script filled with metaphors on poverty and currency, and the romance is sickly sweet. There is a sex scene not long after... Joy forgets all about her boyfriend in the snap of Namjoon's fingers.
You tilt your head when you remember Taehyung. Where is he? How come your boyfriend didn't even show up to this life-changing experience?
Jungkook's hand slides over your thigh out of nowhere, as he murmurs, "do you mind?"
You stammer when his fingers reach under your dress to poke at your panties. "S-Sorry?"
"I said," he grazes your folds as you tense at the feather light touch, "do you mind if I touch you, pretty girl?"
Your chest heaves as your lashes flutter in a daze, but you nod nonetheless. His low raspy voice already has you clenching your thighs, unintentionally trapping his hand against your pussy. He's gentle, almost curious with the way he runs his fingers over your silky underwear before he moves it to the side. You're shivering with delight and thrill, and you don't take your eyes off of each other as he begins to flick your clit carelessly.
"Looks so pretty on you," he compliments the makeshift choker on your neck. It's his handkerchief you wore for the occasion, unaware that it's dried with cum. He pulls on the knot like it's a collar, and you're entranced. Your pants fan his lips at the close proximity, and he doesn't shy away from slotting his mouth against yours. You quietly moan into the kiss when his thumb starts to rub your clit, and his long finger pokes at your entrance.
"You mind?" he murmurs against your lips, his words slightly slurred as he doesn't stop kissing you. The wet noises are drowned out by the loud volume of the movie, but you can't focus on what's going on.
"I don't," you breathe before he slips in two fingers, exploring your walls with precision. He's multitasking as he circles your sensitive clit, and you're not very experienced in regards to sexual encounters but your hand lands on his hard-on anyway.
"Don't be shy," he chuckles into your neck, "touch it."
You don't know what you're doing when you slip your hand under his pants and palm him over his briefs, but his sigh is encouraging you. You're touching each other in a room of 100 people.
It's embarrassing when his free hand joins yours to help you touch him while simultaneously fingering you. He must have sensed your lack of confidence, because he starts to stroke his erection over your hand. You start to imagine his fingers as the real thing, and with your particularly low stamina, have a hard time suppressing your whines.
"Kiss my neck," he suggests as a solution to your nibbling. You didn't even realize your nether lip is bleeding from how hard you were biting on it. You bury your head in his shoulder and start pecking his neck. He holds back a laugh at how shy you're being, and he feels proud for predicting this moment perfectly in the movie. Joy is having the time of her life with Namjoon, unaware of Jimin decaying in the attic.
He quickens his pace in your cunt, and you bite him rather harshly at the sensation. He hisses with a chuckle; he likes it when you're impulsive. He can pick up the squelches from his thrusts because of how wet you are, and you climax all over his fingers in a matter of seconds with a whimper. You're twitching in your seat, and your hand strokes him faster but he stops you.
"In my studio," he says and you nod tiredly against his shoulder. The issue isn't that he doesn't want to cum in his pants, but the movie needs to become reality. He wants to fuck you on that one stool, with Taehyung's corpse decomposing in the backroom.
Jungkook always adds a pinch of fiction to his stories, but they're mostly based on true events. If you paid attention to the ending, maybe you would've realized that.
Lying is bad, but there are worse things in life.

Crazy For You (One-Shot)
Summary: The reader unleashes her crazy side on New Year’s Eve. Will Daryl Dixon be able to resist?
Pairing: Daryl Dixon x Reader
Warnings: None
Word Count: 1,684
Check out my bio for a link to my Masterlist!
Author’s Note: Well, hello. It has been a long while since I posted. This blog has been open, on hiatus, open again, on another hiatus, closed for a while... And now, finally, I have found the urge and ability to write. My main focus has been the new series I’m writing, which will start on Sunday, but I also threw together a couple of little one-shots for my Walking Dead faves to celebrate the holiday. So, Happy New Year to you, my lovely followers and welcome back! I hope you enjoy...
****
The main street of Alexandria was lit only by the porch lights of the houses that lined it and the silvery glow of the full moon, dancing off the rain as it continued to fall from the sky. Narrow streams had formed where the road dipped towards the sidewalks that bordered it, and the gardens were saturated, water creeping up the length of the grass until only the very tips stood clear, gasping for breath. The steady roar of the downpour drowned out any noise from those of your neighbours that were still awake, as well as the creak of your front door as you pushed your way outside to join the shadowy figure lounging on the porch steps with his back against the railings.
Daryl looked up as you settled yourself beside him, arching a brow at you before he took another toke of his cigarette, the end burning amber. 'Thought ya were sleepin'.'
You shrugged, tipping your head back to pick out the few stars that were peeking through from the dense cloud cover. 'Tried. Couldn't. Kinda wanted to see midnight, anyways.'
'Yeah?' A wisp of smoke curled into the air when Daryl spoke, escaping from his lips on a warm breath. 'Why's that?
For a moment you wondered whether to keep it to yourself, whether the hardened archer sitting next to you would think you childish for getting caught up in the season, but eventually you murmured your answer, keeping your gaze turned up and away. 'Because it's New Year's Eve.'
He grunted, staring down at his own knees as his thumb worried against a hole in his jeans. 'It is?'
'Yep.'
'How'd ya even know?'
It was a good question. Since the world had gone to hell, nobody was really paying attention to the date, time passing marked only by the acknowledgement of the endless cycle of light and dark. You doubted anybody in the Safe Zone had a clue how old they even were anymore. As much as you would have liked to take credit for being switched on enough to know the exact date and year that you were living through, you were as guilty as anyone else for letting the concept go. 'Eugene's been keeping track.'
'Course he has.' Daryl's hair fell across his face as he shook his head, lips quirking in a smirk at the idea of anybody having the time or energy to monitor such things when there was a community to be fed and protected. 'Ya really think that stuff still matters?'
'I guess not,' you admitted, a shiver running through you as a cool breeze gusted through the railings at your side. 'Not really. But… I don't know. It feels kinda nice to mark another year passing by, another year that we've all survived.' You cast a sideways glance at him as he nodded, stubbing out his cigarette and twisting so that he was facing out into the near-darkness, leaning back to rest his elbows on the step behind him. 'Besides, this is the first time in forever that we've all had food in our bellies and roofs over our heads, right? So, maybe it makes sense to see the New Year in, say goodbye to all the shit we've been through. I haven't felt this hopeful in a while.'
A part of you half-expected the man at your side to shut you down, kill that small trace of hope that was keeping you going. He was still suspicious of Alexandria, of the people that lived here going about their lives as if the dead weren't walking on the other side of the fences, and you knew that he felt out of place, uncomfortable, in this make-believe suburbia that had become your home. But instead, he tilted his head to one side, fixing you with a curious smile, blue eyes crinkling. 'So, what would ya be doin' right now? Back before all this.'
'Partying.' The answer slipped from your tongue without thought and you couldn't help but grin at the memory of the reckless wild child that you used to be. 'Probably on my sixth double vodka and reeling some poor victim in ready for the ball to drop by now.' His gruff laughter warmed you against the cold night air and you turned to see his amusement lightening his usual scowl. 'What about you?'
He shrugged. 'Prob'ly out with Merle somewhere. Gettin' wasted. Runnin' from the cops. Nothin' special.'
'I think we would've gotten along,' you told him, imagining a young and impressionable Daryl Dixon swept along in his brother's slipstream. 'I was always up for doing something crazy back then.'
'Yer still crazy,' he pointed out, and you knew he was thinking of the risks you took when you were fighting for the group that had become your family. You supposed you weren't really in any position to disagree. So, instead, squinting at your watch to see that the minutes were ticking closer to midnight, you levered yourself upright, stretching your limbs, before grasping the hem of your sweatshirt and tugging it up and over your head. Clad only in the vest top and sweats that you slept in, the cold immediately went straight to your bones, but you squared your shoulders against it, sucking in a deep breath as Daryl watched on, bemused. 'What the hell are ya doin'?'
'Something crazy,' you shot back before letting out a cry of exhilaration and leaping from the porch into the rain. Your bare feet kicked up spray from the path as you pounded along it, darting onto the street and jumping with a splash into the deepest puddle you could find. You were already soaked, your wet hair clinging to your cheeks, and you span around, arms outstretched, almost dancing as the icy droplets drenched your skin. 'C'mon, Dixon, get your ass out here! It feels amazing!'
It wasn't a lie. Despite the stinging cold, you felt alive, rejuvenated. The lethargy that had come from months on end of fighting and killing and barely getting by was getting washed away in the baptism of the storm, and you let out a howl of elation as another cloud burst and the rain grew heavier still. It was lashing down now, the wind whipping it into your face and you closed your eyes against it, kicking out to send ripples spiralling down the length of the road.
Your fingers were numb when you raised your hands to clear the worst of the water from your vision, and, when your eyes flickered open once more, Daryl was standing in front of you, dark hair hanging in rats tails around his neck. His proximity took you by surprise - you weren't sure you'd ever been this close to him, unless you'd been back to back during a fight - and your immediate instinct was to take a step back, but you stopped yourself, gazing up at him. His body was racked with tension, his shirt plastered to his broad chest in a way that was more distracting than you'd ever admit, and you could tell that he was uncertain now he'd moved to join you, unsure of what to do next. Your hand sought his, fingers lacing together so you could lift his arm and spin beneath it, laughing as you went, and he went with it, spinning you back without prompting so that you collided with the solid bulk of him, your face level with the crook of his neck.
Despite the temperature, the shivers that were rattling through you, heat still radiated from the archer and you couldn't hold yourself back from burying your face in the dip of his collarbone, immediately feeling his warmth thaw your icy nose. His hand slipped from your grasp, coming to rest on the curve of your waist, and if you were surprised at the gentleness of his touch, then there was no time to process it as you brought your watch up to see that the hour had arrived.
'Happy New Year, Daryl.'
He didn't respond, his chin dipped to his chest when you lifted your head, his breath shallow and ragged, and you didn't bother to ask permission before you leant forward and pressed your lips to his. He froze. For several long moments, he stood stock still, as if he was afraid that any sort of movement might scare you, and then his touch shifted to graze up your spine and he was kissing you back with fervour, teeth clashing as the wild of the storm took over. His scruff scratched over your chin, the prickling sensation only heightening the feelings that he was awakening within you, dormant since the world as you knew it came to an end.
Your arms crept up to loop around his neck, pulling him impossibly closer, and, if it hadn't been for the rumble of thunder that forced your awareness back to the cold and the rain, then you thought you might've stood out there all night, losing yourself in the man that you weren't sure you'd ever really seen properly until now.
'C'mon, yer gonna catch yer death out here.' His voice was rough, his breathing heavy, as he ran with you back to the cover of the porch, immediately pulling you back into his embrace when you reached the dry and running his calloused hands over you in a bid to rub some heat back into your limbs. 'Yer crazy, girl.'
'I know.' Your teeth were chattering, and you knew you needed to get inside, to the warm, but you were reluctant to leave and break the moment that you seemed to be caught in, in case you might never get it back. 'It was fun though, r-right? Tell me th- that wasn't the best m-moment you've had in y-years.'
'Might'a been.' Daryl's lips were curved in a crooked smile, his touch finally stilling to linger on your hips, growing firmer and more confident as you moved closer, seeking his warmth once more. 'Guess, maybe, this year might not be so bad after all.'
'I told you so.'

I recently decided to start keeping track of my hours so I could ensure that my paystubs match up (not because I think something is going on, just because it seemed like a good idea). During my last pay period, I accidentally clocked one minute of overtime, but when I looked at my pay stub, that minute wasn't there. Not as overtime, and not as my standard pay rate, either -- I checked. I'm not sure if I should bring it up because it's only one minute and is a difference of about 40 cents, and I don't want to be That Person™, but it's... disconcerting, I guess. This isn't the first time I've had issues with receiving pay from this job, either because my boss accidentally switched me from paper checks to direct deposit without telling me and then failed to switch it back for the next two pay periods despite my asking repeatedly, or because they forgot to apply my sick time for days I was out sick, and I know we all make mistakes, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Does anyone have any thoughts about this?

Rescued: Tommy Shelby x Fem!Reader Part 3
This is it! This is the last part of Rescued! I hope you’ve all enjoyed reading it as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it. Diclaimer, I had a moment while writing this and managed to switch tense without noticing so if you notice any mistakes, please let me know and I’ll change them as soon as I can.
Part 1 / Part 2
Warnings: None

That night, Tommy reluctantly dropped Y/N back at her Battersea apartment, having practically begged her to return to his city centre townhouse. The more time Tommy spent with this woman, the more and more he wanted her in his every day. This attraction wasn’t sexual like his previous women. It was more akin to what he had felt for Grace...
No.
Tommy was not going to let her face back into his mind. Grace was gone, a ghost that tormented him in his darkest moments. Y/N was alive, living, breathing. She had hopes and dreams that could still be fulfilled. Hopes and dreams that Tommy wanted a part in. And Tommy always got what he wanted.
Y/N’s mind was also churning. In less than twenty four hours, she had become a person of interest to one of the largest criminal gangs in the midlands, if not the whole country, simply because she had caught the leader’s eye. And what striking eyes they were too. Slipping into her nightclothes, Y/N placed her kettle onto the fire that she had started moments earlier, before settling into her armchair. Slowly, Y/N drifted in and out of thought, her pensive eyes glazed over as she stared into the flames. She was faced with one of the biggest decisions of her life: Tommy Shelby or Battersea cats and dogs home.
The next day, Y/N arrived at the shelter, and was met by an odd sight. A large poster was placed on the door and read, from what Y/N could decipher, ‘Under New Management’. So, doing what every good employee would, she opened the door and stepped into the foyer. It was quiet. Too quiet for an animal shelter. Quietly, Y/N approached the door of Mr. Smith’s office, and knocked.
“Come,” came a reply.
Y/N opened the door, once again releasing a haze of smoke, and stepped inside.
“Mr. Smith,” she began, but stopped. Sat in Mr. Smith’s chair, behind Mr. Smith’s desk, was Tommy Shelby. Y/N’s words caught in her throat, and she stood, stunned, until Bruce pressed his head into her knees.
“Mr. Shelby, what are you doing here?” she queried, bending down to stroke the dog.
“Y/N, I own it.” Swinging his legs off of the desk, Tommy stood and took the gently smoking cigarette from his lips. “I thought it would make your decision easier if I bought the place.”
A look of sheer confusion engulfed Y/N’s face. She knew Tommy was rich from his nice suit and ability to pay for almost everything, but she didn’t think he was ‘buy-a-dog-shelter-because-you-want-one-of-the-workers-to-go-home-with-you’ rich.
“I’ll stay for a few days.” In that moment, Y/N saw a flicker of a smile cross Tommy’s face, and she knew he had won.
The drive back to Small Heath was dull. But, at least, Y/N had Bruce for company. Tommy had been silent since they had left London, and Y/N assumed it was because he was concentrating on the road. In reality, however, it was something entirely different that was consuming Tommy’s attention.
Tommy’s mild swirled with thoughts: some about business, some not. Every now and then, the car rocked, causing the crime boss to catch scent of his passenger’s perfume, making his head spin even more. Out of the corner of his eye he could just see her stroking Bruce and god did she look cute.
Slowly, Tommy’s hand moved from the gear stick onto Y/N’s thigh. He heard her breath hitch slightly, and waited.
Y/n turned to face him, meeting his steely blue gaze, and nodded slightly. She was okay with this. Part of her brain had been begging for Tommy to make a move, and finally, he was. She felt her stomach twist slightly as his fingers pressed into her thigh slightly, having received permission mere seconds earlier.
Tommy was one of a kind, Y/N had decided, and if his family were half as intriguing as he was, she would be in for one hell of a trip.
After what felt like forever, Y/N and her guide pulled up in Small heath. Tommy marched from the car, pushing the front door open, and striding inside, followed dutifully by Y/N and Bruce.
“Tom. You’re back early.” A thick liverpool accent wafted through the smoke, and Y/N froze.
“Yes Pol, I made the deal so there was no reason to hang around.” A chair scraped against the floor and a figure stepped towards them. Sharp, hawk like eyes glared at the two as the woman pulled a cigarette from her lips.
“And who may this be?” Tommy’s hand found the small of Y/N’s back, willing her to answer for herself.
“My name is Y/N L/N, I worked- I work at a dog shelter in London,” she squirmed slightly under Pol’s gaze, waiting for a response.
“I was talking about the dog, but nice to meet you dear.” she muttered with an exasperated sigh. “Polly Grey. I call the shots around here, despite what Tommy may have told you.”
The woman released a long stream of smoke and reached down to stroke Bruce. Y/N’s face flushed with embarrassment.
“This is Bruce.” Tommy grunted, striding between the part-demolished walls, causing his companion to look to Polly for directions.
“Well go on then!” she cried, watching the new girl scuttle after her nephew.
The betting shop, as Y/N discovered, was noisy, smokey and down right boisterous. Finally, she spied Tommy leaning over a desk, and upon noticing her discomfort, Tommy beckoned her over, sliding his hand around her waist as she arrived.
“Y/N I want you to meet my little brother, John,” the young woman nodded shyly in the direction of a man holding a thick leather bound accounting book as he winked. “Be careful of him, he's a womaniser.”
“Ah! Says you Tom!” John interjected, holding a hand over his heart in mock hurt. “Don’t listen to him, love, he's boring and old. Come for a drink down The Garrison tonight, yeah? You can meet the rest of us.”
Seeing Y/N’s confused face, Tommy sighed in frustration and shot John a glare.
“I have three brothers and a sister, You’ve met John and, if you want, you can meet Arthur, Ada and Finn tonight.” taking a last drag of his cigarette, Tommy stubbed it out and stalked away, leaving Y/N in silence with John, who was watching the happenings intently.
“He bought the dog shelter that I work at so I would come to Birmingham with him,” Y/N explained, hoping that he wouldn’t ask questions that she didn’t know the answer to.
“Ah,” John nodded, as if this was a common occurrence. “You look tired, there’s a sitting room just through there. If Tom asks, I’ll tell him where you are.”
Y/N thanked the Shelby brother and wandered in the direction that John had indicated, the sounds and smells of the betting shop making her head spin. Finally, having located the sitting room and, finding nobody else inside, she settled onto the soft armchair and closed her eyes, drifting into a dreamless sleep.
When Y/N awoke, the sky had turned the telltale inky blue of night. Stretching gently, she sat up to find that she was not alone. Someone was sitting on the sofa adjacent to the armchair that she occupied, smoking a cigarette with Bruce at their feet. Upon noticing that she had awoken, Bruce stood and waddled over, plonking his head into her lap.
“Heya Brucie,” Y/N croaked, scratching his ears before stretching out her stiff limbs more thoroughly. She squinted into the gloom and slowly was able to distinguish the identity of your companion. In the half light, his features seemed elegant, his high cheekbones turning into mountains and his cheeks became the deep valleys below. If he wasn’t so attractive, he would have looked gaunt, almost skeletal, like the death he caused every day. But to Y/N, the features of his face were angelic.
Tommy Shelby sat on the sofa, gently smoking his cigarette while the young woman awoke. He noticed her studying his features and turned his head, locking his eyes onto hers.
“You’re staring,” he croaked, standing abruptly and rousing Y/N from her thoughts. She tilted her head to watch as he shifted his weight, as if testing the floor. “They’re all at The Garrison waiting for us.”
It was not a long walk from Tommy’s house to the pub, but in a dark unfamiliar place, it felt like miles. Hooked onto Tommy’s arm, Y/N shivered slightly as the evening breeze cut through her clothes making her wish that she had a thicker coat. As she approached The Garrison, however, her muscles relaxed, sensing the warmth and welcoming environment radiating from the glowing windows.
Tommy pushed the doors open, striding into the pub dramatically.
“At ease,” he sighed, nodding to the barman as you stepped into the pub behind him. Without so much as checking on his companion, he turned sharply to the right and stepped into a private booth, the noise inside the pub rising like a tsunami.
Y/N slid inside the booth after Tommy like an obedient puppy as a hush fell over the occupants.Looking around hopefully, Y/N searched for a familiar face and found Polly, the ghost of a smirk playing on her lips.
“Y/N!” her head snapped around to find the source of the voice, finding John picking his way to wrap his arm around her shoulders.
“Everyone, this is Y/N, she’s Tommy’s new flame, so keep your hands off!” His jest caused Y/Ns cheeks to flame up and she looked at the ground, attempting to avoid the eyes of the booth’s inhabitants. One by one, she was introduced to the Shelby clan by Tommy and John, and eventually found herself gravitating towards Polly and Ada, who, between them, also happened to possess most of the Shelby brain cells.
“So how did you and Tommy meet?” the younger Shelby woman sighed, sipping at her Gin.
Y/N looked up, meeting her gaze and chuckled gently, “He wanted to adopt a dog from the shelter that I worked- that I work at, so I showed him Bruce, and he decided then and there that he wanted him.” Ada nodded as she paused, and Polly let out what seemed to be a chuckle masked as a cough. Y/N furrowed her brow, clearly confused, until Ada interjected.
“Let me guess, he then bought the shelter so you’d come back here? It's very predictable Tommy behaviour is all.” her clarification caused Y/n’s heart to sink. If this was so predictable, then there was no reason to feel as special as she did.
Sensing her dejection, Ada sighed. “Don’t worry sweet, If he did it, it means he’s serious about you. Tommy likes to seem all big and hard, but really, he’s just as much of a softie as Bruce is.” As if to prove her point, Ada reached down and scratched the top of Bruce’s head. Y/N smiled softly, nodding to show her understanding.
“Men, am I right?” she giggled, causing the two other shelby women to smile.
“I’ll drink to that, my dear,” Polly smiled, raising her glass.
The next few days in Small heath were relatively uneventful. Despite having been invited to Birmingham by Tommy, Y/N had barely seen the man, except for ten minutes here and five minutes there. Largely, she had spent her time with Polly and Ada, becoming acquainted with the bustling city. The more time Y/N spent in town, or helping Lizzie with some accounting, the more at home she felt.
Birmingham, Y/N had decided, was largely like London.
Yet something was bugging her. She wanted to know exactly what was going on with Tommy. His hot and cold nature was intriguing to begin with, but now the novelty had worn off and she was stuck in an unfamiliar world without the one who had invited her there.
After a morning of shopping with Ada and mathematics with Lizzie, Y/N found herself draped across one of the armchairs in Tommy’s office while he worked on some contracts at his desk.
“Tommmmm,” she whined, causing the man to raise his eyebrows and hum in response. “Why am I here if all you’re going to do is ignore me?”
Tommy’s head snapped up, Y/N’s question had caught him like a wild right hook.
Finally, she had Tommy cornered.
Tommy gulped, fighting the urge to blurt out the whole reason, that he, Tommy Shelby, was infatuated with this girl from London who worked with dogs and rendered him speechless.
“I- I um thought you would like to see Birmingham,” Y/N raised an eyebrow as the crime boss stumbled over his words.
“We both know that’s not it, Tom. Be honest.”
Tommy glared at the woman in his armchair. She knew why, she was just taunting him. Tommy didn’t like to be taunted. Slowly, he stood from his chair and made his way towards his guest, who looked up at him from under her eyelashes. Then, coming to a stop directly in front of Y/N, he took her chin in his hand and pressed his lips to hers.
“Is that enough of an answer for you?” he muttered against her lips. As they broke away, Tommy thought he heard Y/N mutter something under her breath.
“What was that?” he asked, raising one eyebrow as his icy blue eyes bore into hers.
“I love you, Mr. Shelby.”
“I love you too, Y/N.”
